Enjoy your retirement, Kathy!

Kathy Winters will retire on January 29, 2016 after 19 years of service at the UW-Stout University Library. Kathy joined the library staff in January 1997 and has continually served the needs of campus students, staff and faculty.

As the Standing Orders/Electronic Resources Guru, Kathy works behind the scenes to make sure you all have access to the electronic resources in the library – article databases, e-books, streaming videos.

Kathy started out her career at the UW-Stout Library while she was a student. In her classes she noticed a need for scanned handouts instead of paper copies. She took this idea and ran with it; creating a scanning service for faculty. She would scan their handouts and readings so they could be housed in the course management system. It grew to include scanning for disability services.

Kathy’s service was recognized in 2014, when she received the Barnard Outstanding Service Award.

Kathy Winters is a great colleague to library staff, and mentor to the students she supervised. We will miss her sense of humor, fun-loving spirit and willingness to lend a hand.
