Julie Hatfield joins the library staff in the University Archives
Julie Hatfield is the new part-time Library Services Assistant in the University Archives on the 3rd floor of the library. Growing up in Menomonie, Julie enjoyed being a part of the Menomonie High School Marching Band and Colorguard and traveling throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Indianapolis to compete.
Julie received a Bachelor’s Degree in Public History from UW-Eau Claire, December 2008, and a Master of Library and Information Science, with an Archives concentration, from UW-Milwaukee, May 2013. Elizabeth Steans is our new Circulation Supervisor
Elizabeth Steans is our new Circulation Supervisor. She
comes to us with sixteen years of library work experience, most recently
working as library director in Spring Valley. Elizabeth earned her bachelor of
science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from UW-Stout in August
2013. During her time as a student she worked as a library student assistant,
an office assistant at the Graduate School, and an undergraduate research
assistant for Infusing Diversity across the Curriculum.
Interesting facts about Elizabeth: she used to play on a
women’s semi-professional baseball league traveling from Wisconsin to Indiana
bi-weekly; she performed as lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter of an Eau
Claire band with two of her five sisters. Her hobbies include creating large
scale real-life drawings, acting in local theater productions, organizing
fundraisers showcasing local talent, coordinating teen book discussions,
library advocacy and reading 1-2 books a week.
One of the greatest joys in life is reading books with my
children.
