  " Immanuel Kant was one of the key Enlightenment thinkers during his lifetime and is still one of the most influential figures in Western Philosophy today. Kant wanted to explain the word, but as the same time he was aware that he himself - like all human beings - only had limited capacity for understanding. He never left his native Konigsberg (Germany), learning all he knew about world affairs from books and observation of his environment and his own emotional life. He combined all this knowledge into a complex system of concepts, categories, and matrices to create his moral philosophy. Filmed for the 300th anniversary of his birth - in April 2024 - this program shows just how closely Kant was connected to his native town."

" This is the first documentary about Black ASL: the unique dialect of American Sign Language (ASL) that developed within historically segregated African American Deaf communities. Black ASL today conveys an identity and sense of belonging that mirror spoken language varieties of the African American hearing community. The program highlights the different uses of space, hand use, directional movement, and facial expression, which are ways that Black ASL distinguishes itself as a vibrant dialect of ASL. The African American Deaf community is now embracing their unique variety as a symbol of solidarity and a viral part of their identity."

Save library loan history by March 2025

In order to protect your data privacy, the UW System Libraries are anonymizing library loan history beginning March 2025. Loans completed more than 6 months ago (September 2024) will be remove from your library history. In the future the library will retain only the previous six months of history on a rolling basis. If you would like to save your loan history to a spreadsheet, or Mendeley, please follow these step-by-step instructions.

1. Log into your library account: Search@UW

        

2. click “My Loans”

        

3. Loans, choose "Previous and historic loans"

        Click on the box above your loans to select all items, or scroll through the list choosing the items             you want to save.

        

4. Click on the ellispe on the right, choose how to save your records.

5. Contact Matthew Winkler if you have questions or need help.
